Positivity, Virtual Weddings..............
Admit it you have an alternate life on the Internet. You somewhat feel that people are more supportive here than in your real life. But is there substance to that support? Do they really know you or just the fraction you’re putting out on the Internet?
A random person commenting you can do it on your post “YOU CAN DO IT” might give you that instant shot of positivity(you need that on some days) but in most cases, that person has no idea of your situation or where you’re coming from. Their advice is not context-specific and thus both positive and negative comments should not be taken to heart.
Again I’m not against forming bonds with people on the Internet but at the same time, we should learn to filter people.
Think about it, sleep over it and type down your thoughts.

I'm usually a calm guy but put me on a football field and you get a crazy trash-talking Goalkeeper who's rough and mean. I just want to win at all costs and that's what any sport does to you- it makes you competitive, you are in the moment and more alive than ever.

"Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt." - The Slaughter House 5
This book is my introduction to Kurt Vonnegut's satirical infused writing style. A story expressed through tragedy and dark humor. It's made out to be an anti-war novel but believe me, it's so much more. It revolves from hallucinations about science fiction and space travel to brutally realistic and obliterative bombing of the German city of Dresden by the joint American-British forces during WW2. The lesser-known fact? 135,000 people lost their lives. It was the highest death toll of any air raid during the war. Yes, more than the nuclear devastation in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. So it goes. But as I said, it depicts more than just the war itself. It's fluid transitions between time, a beautiful narrative that follows no traditional linearity. A must-read!! "Poo-tee-weet"

You are remembered for the rules you break. - Shoe Dog: A Memoir of Phil Knight
Phil Knight, the founder of Nike, goes deep down the memory lane in this book and shares the story of a 24-year-Stanford graduate who after his backpacking trip across the world decided to startup and import shoes from Japan.
From the early days of Nike to how it became a household name and a game-changing brand, his personal life and early relationships, his drive for sports and running that he inculcates in his brand.
What I liked about the book is that Phil Knight is an imperfect man, not some business whiz, it’s just that the guy never gave up. It’s not merely a sugarcoated success story of Nike, it’s about never stopping, never settling, breaking rules, believing in yourself, and just doing it.

That’s it from us for this newsletter. It took some time to compile this one as we both were busy with our academic pursuits with Srijan in college full time. I’ll try to be more consistent from now on. If you liked this edition, do share it.
